House RENTALS

We have reserved blocks of rooms at some local hotels/B&Bs, but one of the best ways to enjoy the weekend with friends and family is to rent one of the numerous  houses in and around Carmel-by- the-Sea.   Check out www.VRBO.com or www.AirBnB.com

HOTELs

Blocks of rooms have been reserved at the following hotels/B&Bs.  Several types of rooms will be available, so rates will vary. Mention the Linden-Rodgers Wedding to receive the wedding block discount.  Please book early as all of the hotels release the blocks 30-60 days prior to the wedding. Additionally, several of these are smaller B&Bs and this is one of the busiest months on the peninsula so we encourage you to reserve rooms as soon as possible.

17-Mile Drive

The famous scenic drive that runs along the Pacific Coast.  Be sure to check out the Lone Cypress and watch the seals.  Click the following link to see points of interest and access and an interactive map. http://www.pebblebeach.com/interactive-map.

One of the best ways to enjoy 17-Mile-Drive is by bike.

Rent bikes at one of these locations:

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

Point Lobos has numerous seaside hiking trails.  It is the closest state park to Carmel and has endless views of the coastline.  This is a great way to experience hiking in Big Sur if you don't have much time!

PACKING

The weather in Carmel is usually beautiful at this time of year!  The temperature during the day is often in the 70s with cool nights in the 50s.  It can be foggy at times, though.  The best way to be prepared is to dress in layers.  Many of the weekend events are outdoors, including the ceremony, so please be sure to have a sweater, light shawl or jacket with you at all times.

For the ladies, keep in mind, much of the wedding day will be outside (in a forest, on a lawn, etc.) and will involve walking so please bring appropriate shoes like wedges, flats or sandals!
